This concept is an evolution on the original Circlipd diamond ring but is designed to tension set the diamond in a setting that is both practical and easily adjustable.
The underlying beauty of structural, engineered forms are the inspiration behind the Circlipd design. While observing the bucket of a digger, the concept for this ring immediately sprang into mind. I wanted to create a ring that securely clasps a diamond in an open tension setting - so as to be able to appreciate the diamond in all its glory. The hard dramatic curves of the bucket are carried into the platform for the diamond.
This structural yellow gold and platinum ring holds a round brilliant cut diamond which is tension set to appear as if it is floating - the ring pictured features a 0.84ct diamond.
