Wellington, NZ, August 19, 2011 - The Inspired Collection has just been announced a finalist in the Best Awards. The bold platinum, gold and diamond ring is a finalist in the Consumer Product Category. An initiative of The Designer’s Institute of New Zealand, The Best Design Awards is the annual showcase of excellence in graphic, spatial, product and interactive design.
Director of Inspired Jewellery Ian Douglas said “we are thrilled to be named a finalist in the Best Awards a competition focused on great design and to amongst so many great companies and beautifully designed products.” The Circlipd Radiant diamond ringexplores the use of the ‘tension set’ concept of securing a diamond into a ring setting of platinum and 18ct gold. The diamond ring has an open plan look embedded into a much safer framework for the diamond. The diamond only touches the ring at two points (‘the tension set’) which makes the diamond appear to float.
The ring is developed from a combination of traditional and modern manufacturing technology. CAD, laser welding and award winning craftsmen are brought together to create a seamlessly executed piece. All components of the design facilitate an efficient manufacturing process while still allowing each piece to be individually made for the customer according to their finger size, diamond preference and precious metal combination. Each constituent part is separately hand finished and assembled to creative a seamless high quality article that ensures a distinctively superior finish.
