Congratulations to Jewellery Designer Nick Hensman who has been jointly named the Jewellery Industry Board of New Zealand’s Top Apprentice 2012.
Our industry Trade Certificate exam is comprehensive and anyone who has sat it will report that each of the obtainable 100 marks are not given away easily.
This year the title of Top Apprentice 2012 was shared with Tobie Harding – L. W. Hardings LTDChristchurch and Nick Hensman – Village Goldsmith Wellington, both scoring 81%.Congratulations.

Nick began his apprenticeship at The Village Goldsmith in 2009 in winning style when he scooped first place in the National Jewellery Design Awards with his wave inspired 'Erays' Necklace. Nick was also a finalist in the awards in 2011 with his '1886' Necklace - a piece inspired by the burial of the pink and white terraces of Mt Tarawera.
